My goal is to produce functional pottery that feels homey enough to be used daily, and at the same time is aesthetically pleasing enough to proudly serve as part of your art collection. Because of the high energy input required for ceramic production, I also hope that what I make will be used and loved for years, rather than being purchased to satisfy some temporary materialistic urge. This is why I focus on simple, classic designs that work well for their intended use. This is also why all of my pottery is high-fired for durability, and is food, oven, and microwave safe.
I have been making pottery for over fifteen years, finally taking the plunge into commercial production in 2008. Until 2010 I worked from my garage studio at my home in Santa Cruz, CA; I am currently building a new studio at my new home in the hills outside San Juan Bautista, CA, hoping to be back in commercial production in October 2011. I fire in electric and gas-fired kilns. In Santa Cruz all of my electricity was generated from photovoltaic panels; setting up a similar arrangement at the new studio is still a few years away.

All of the oils, butters, essential oils, and additives in my soaps are organic, sourced from suppliers that focus on beyond-organic issues of social and environmental sustainability. My goal is to make a luxury product that you can feel good about buying.

Currently, the best way to order my organic soap is by contacting me directly. Pottery is of limited availability until I re-establish my studio. All of these items can currently be found at Greenspace, in Santa Cruz, CA. Greenspace also carries my larger, one-of-a-kind pieces, including lamps, teapots, vases, and bowls. Please contact me directly if you are interested in these items and live out of the area.
